LEADERSHIP CHALLENGE INSTITUTE
Last year’s Challenge Institute, hosted by the Leadership Wyoming Alumni Association, was held in Casper on September 29 and 30, 2011. The theme for this year's event was "Unsung Heroes" recognizing numerous individuals, organizations and businesses building a better Wyoming. Field trips included tours of ExCal, Inc., Wyoming's only manufacturing foundry; the Audubon Center at Garden Creek; the Platte River Commons; and the Tate Museum. Presentations included:

· The Tate Foundation by Diane Harrop (’04)
· Cultural History of Casper by Jack Watters
· Serve Wyoming by Rachel Chadderdon (’08)
· Animal, Vegetable, Miracle – Class of 2011 Small Group Project
· Child Rescue by Flint Waters
· Musical Entertainment by Merchant Family
The Alumni Association presented awards to three truly unsung heroes. Nancy Johnson, Natrona County District Attorney’s Office. Director of Victim Services was recognized for her work with victims and establishing Camp Hope, a camp for children with diabetes. Flint Waters, CIO, State of Wyoming, was honored for fighting the exploitation of children. Finally, Traci Mears, Class of 2011, was honored for her years of community service in Casper and Wyoming.
